Where does "Kolores, sí" come from?
If you know a little about who I am, you know I love colours. I have my studio full of art supplies organized in a rainbow. Like pencils, pens, markers, and paints.
I've dedicated myself to making flowers with multicolored petals. If you are interested in more, visit my Porfolio. I enjoy taking photos of nature. I love it when the sky creates this spectacular combination of colors at sunset. Or when the sea reflects that beautiful turquoise. And I try to capture the charm of where I was born in a painting.
Sunset with a blend of oranges and purples of San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Forest like scenery with crashing waves in beautiful blue sea water. Mirador de Guajataca, Quebradillas, Puerto Rico.
I also go to the river and admire the whitish jets of water flowing down. And when the sky with its clouds is reflected in an area where the water is calm.
Sunny river day with the sky reflecting in clearwater. Río Grande, Puerto Rico.
I'm amazed by the colors of butterflies and how they sometimes camouflage themselves with the leaves. And I can't forget the two times I was enchanted by seeing some green insects and others blue. Impressive!
Butterfly posing in a flower. Río Grande, Puerto Rico.
Spiky insects light green with turquoise spots and red eyes. San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Metallic greenish blue insects eating leaves. Río Grande, Puerto Rico.
I love looking at colored quartz very closely and thinking, "How was the earth able to create this?". Maybe, in a future blog, I can share my quartz collection.
And as an artist, I often choose to create inspired by the respect I have for nature. From this fascination with color in all its expressions, Kolores, sí was born. Because I do love colours.
The change from "c" to "k" in “kolores” (from “colores”, colors in english) not only gives it a different touch but also represents my name. The name my parents baptized me with, and it's the perfect blend of my dad and my mom.
Today I don't just want to share photos or my art with you. I want it to be transformed into merchandise that you can wear or use every day. And to make Kolores, sí my dream come true: to present art and color in all possible expressions. I want to draw, I want to paint, I want to take photographs, I want to write, I want to transform, and I want to be.
That's where Kolores, sí comes from.
This is me; here you'll find a little piece of me.
